Podium Report – Week of 11/19 – 11/26

Good morning 2O4F and welcome to the unofficial race lobby report we have dubbed:

A1 Header.jpg

There is a lot happening in 2O4F lobbies right now so if the series write ups are shorter than usual, we are trying to keep interest and skimming over the highlights for now. Now onto the racing action.

We shall begin with the weekly series hosted by Gizziegod. Gizzie has jumped into the Formula mazda for the next round of action which is set to take to the tarmac today. The shakedown was last Sunday and the series begins points racing today at Silverstone National circuit. By the looks at the sign ups for this event, this will be some fast and exciting racing to watch. If you are planning on racing, make sure you skip the rest of the report for now and get onto the official event thread to sign in and get your car built and tuned! Stay tuned next week to see how it went or better yet get out on the track. If you are racing in this series, then good luck and see you next week in the podium report!

D V8 Series.jpg
D1 V8 Series.jpg

On the US side of Sundays, the V8 supercar championship is trying to take flight on Sunday nights. The series took to the track last Sunday at Mugello with a full field. At the checkers, Electric would cross first with MasterBigChief crossing second and RRR flight602 crossing third. Currently there is a full lobby worth running this series and it sounds like there was some great racing even with the party full and nearly half the 24 car field not being able to communicate. Hoping to see a replay from this weeks action which is set to invade the walls of Long Beach for a battle royal. Good luck entries!

Tuesday nights are home of the long running Super Normal Tuesdays. This is a great night of non points racing with some of the regular series drivers in the club. The racing starts in D class and if the racing stays clean, we move up a class to as far as we can go. Fun night for all and a great night racing for newer members. See the official thread for more information.

Wednesday nights, Gizziegod hosts a track night very similar to Super Normal Tuesdays but this is a Euro event so please check the thread for the official time frame for racing action. It is another great opportunity to run with some really fast members and a great place to get to race with some of the regulars you will be battling with if you are planning to run one of Gizzies series.

E Ultimate Streetcar.jpg

Wednesday nights are the current home for Drivebye’s latest installment of his new series…The Ultimate Streetcar Showdown. He is currently hosting the Euro spec series. You will need to check the thread for build and car requirements and get some cars built. Week 2 kicks off this Wednesday night for racing action at Road America, Maple Valley reverse and Mugello Full circuits. I attended last weeks action late but there was some great battles up front and some great racing in general, these cars are quick and handle well (if you built it right!).

Thursday night is the night of stock race cars and GrimGrinninGhosts’ series…RCS or Race Car Series. Season 2 kicks off this Thursday (there was a week break for the US holiday – Thanksgiving) at Lime Rock full and Catalunya National circuits. The car chosen by the small group that voted is the Lotus Exige S. A love hate car but fast and fun at the same time. We shall await a replay to see how the action stacks up for this event next report.

As a side note to our thousands of readers, if you have not trolled through the official events threads, please do so after leaving your comments below. On that exhaust note, GrimGrnninGhost has announced an interesting addition to his Race Car Series……the 2 Old 4 Endurance racing series. It will take place in between RCS championships and has an interesting format. Pro drivers in LMP cars and ProAM drivers in GT3 cars. We ran this format as a series in FM6 and had a blast, if you are interested, get over to the thread and let Grim know you are interested. Please note that you need to run RCS in order to get a guaranteed spot, but read the thread anyways to get an idea what is up for this series.

And the final moments of the Forza portion of the report are always home to the 2Old 4Hotlapping or the HLC series brought to you by Pryde300ZX, FV Lucky1, Triumphrid3r and Lord Sarverious.
Please check the thread to get the new scorer gamer tags added to your friends list so that your lap times can be recorded.

Last week (week 5) saw the sunny skies of Florida and the racers hit the Homestead Road Circuit in the Rebirth of Muscle division. FameHotRods was the star tuner this week and his tune on the 79 Camaro stole the show. MasterBigChief found his way to the top of the podium this week with the only member in the 37s lap of 1.37.678 and #1 in hardcore (Electric put down a 36 but it was after event close). Lucky 2O4F would keep his points lead as he found some way to sneak in last minute with a 1.38.144. Recent sign up MysticV 247 took the final podium spot for the week with an assisted 1.38.248. Overall 2O4F members dominated the leaderboards and own the top 10 hardcore spots and most of the top overall spots. Great job to all who put a time in and Thank you to FameHotRods for sharing the tune that put us all there!

G1 HLC.jpg

This week ugh….Major Micros at Hockenheim Short. The BMW Isetta is the dominant car this week (bet you never though you would ever read that as a head line!) and recent sign up tbohar has shared the tune of the hour this week. Currently (at least as of this writing) MasterBigChief has put down the leading time with a 1.19.444. tbohar is following close with a 1.19.476 and MysticV 247 is not far behind that with a 1.19.522. There is still some time to get some laps in. Search for tbohars ‘Final’ tune if you want to go fast!

Go to the official Hot Lap Challenge threads to see where you stand and to keep up with what the organizers throw at us next (new events are announced and start on Tuesday nights)

H Other Header.jpg

There is racing happening in several different platforms right now so if you want to get into something different, check the forums and threads under the titles name to see what is going on and when.

K Dirt4 Banner.jpg

Dirt4 is continuing to run weekly challenges that end on Sundays. Head over to the official Dirt4 thread to see where and what is going on with this title. It may be a little slow right now as most of the main players are either on FM7 or Project cars 2 at this time but there are still some racers keeping the mud slung so post away in the thread and good luck on the stages! If you think you can beat Drivebye, get out there but good luck as he took last week by 2 full seconds! Thanks to Capn Nasties for keeping up with and posting results for us to report on.

J PC Banner.jpg

Project Cars 2 has many events to choose from right now, check the official PC2 thread if there is an racing discipline you prefer to see if there is an event for you.

Currently we see 3 events running:
#1) The Nordshleife Power laps run by Thane62, this is a continuous flying lap style event that is keeping times on the Nordshleife circuit. Please read the thread to see what is required for submitting times.

#2) Monday nights, the checkers drop on the World Racing Championship hosted by sir GrinGrnninGhost. Season 2 is in the making right now in the Group A race cars (see thread for official eligibility) and week 1 action is set to drop the flags at Silverstone International and Red Bull Ring GP this week. If you want in on the action, you need to get over to the thread right away and post which car and livery you want to use. You will also want to browse the thread to see any other requirements you might need.

#3) Time attack series hosted by Thane62: the current challenge is 6 decades of LeMans winners which sounds fantastic! Again, please visit the official event thread to see what cars are eligible, what the requirements are for posting your times are and to see where you currently stand as Thane has added a points spread sheet to the thread and it is very easy to cruise through to see where you stack up.
Good luck all entries!

L Assetto Corsa.jpg

Assetto Corsa, not sure what to say here except if you are hanging on to hopes for this game, get on the thread and post something, anything. There is a small group of drivers still taking to the Assetto tracks for casual racing and probably some lobby testing. So…….

And here we are again, at the end of the report. At this time, the staff would like to thank all the contributors, event organizers, livery creators, replay savers, spread sheet slammers, hot lappers, tuners, and everyone else who gets on the forums and gets involved.

See you on the track or behind your ghost (sorry, didnt mean to get you excited, that is your own ghost), have fun and good luck racers and lappers!
