Good morning 2O4F and welcome to the unofficial race lobby report we have dubbed:
Now onto the racing action. We start off the report with Forza Motorsport 7:
We begin the report with the weekly series hosted by Gizziegod. The second season of the staple Euro series is now heading into the final week and later today it shall conclude at Watkins Glen Short but before you skip ahead to the next series, this one is still active! There has been great attendance for the series and we see a battle for 3rd spot on the podium taking place today as MysticV 247 and GrimGGhost 2O4F are sitting in 3rd place, tied at 69 points! Not but 5 points back, we see MasterBigChief and Gizzie himself tied for 4th at 64 points! Man oh man what a race today will be. KC sits out front of the points with an almost safe lead at 116 and Johnny sits in 2nd with 84 points. After watching the action from last week, this one could be the race of the year so far! Last Sunday the racers headed to Bathurst for 20 laps. Mystic would start upfront with KC on his spoiler (no bumpers on this car) for several laps but would also have a rear view mirror full of GTV Zeratul and Grim battling hard but closing the gaps some. Later in the race, Johnny would get in on the action as well. At the checkers, KC would take the victory with MysticV 247 not far behind in second place and JohnnyFocus would grab the 3rd spot to finish off the podium. The next series for Gizzie should be announced over the week or so, keep your eye on forums to see what Gizzie is planning next. Good luck to all entries that take to the tarmac later today. Stay tuned to the podium report next week to see how this one shakes out.
Shout out to grim for sharing the replay!!
Currently on the US side of events, Lord Sarverious has brought 2O4Frs the V8 supercar championship. It is stock build but fully tuneable. It has had some great attendance and some tight racing so far. Last week, the field was to tackle the hillsides of California at Sonoma. Grim in his Nissan, MasterBigChief in his Holden and Ron Anytime Vachon in his Mercedes are keeping the points board from going blue but the Fords have a pretty commanding lead on the manufacturer points and have finished in the top 3 almost every week so we are guessing that the manufacturer championship will end up in Fords corner. As for the actual racing championship, Electric is upfront by 66 points with ALandry trying to track him down in 2nd. Grim and RRR Flight602 are close in 3rd. Race 1 saw some tight racing and Grim would take his Nissan into 2nd place with Ron very close, so close that I think Grim had a hard time figuring out which mirror to look in. Electric got a free pass at hotlapping as the battles intensified behind him. Second in points Alandry would eventually work his way into the 3rd position for race 1. Race 2 would be similar results with Electric taking the checkers for back to back wins. This race, RRR Flight602 would jump back onto the podium with a 2nd place finish and ALandry would continue his podium finishes with another 3rd place finish. The racers are heading into the final week of action at Bathurst tonight (9pm est). Seeing as it is the home of these monsters, we will hopefully get a chance to see them in their natural habitat and see some battles take place for the final week of racing. Good luck to all who enter and stay tuned for the conclusion, right here in the podium report.
After the conclusion of the V8 series, and with a holiday in the middle, Drivebye will be launching his ever-popular series, the 2.5 challenge. We did some test racing last Tuesday and this picture pretty much says it all. Pick one and race hard. All night long, we saw different cars take to the lead and the battles were turn by turn not lap by lap so if you like some tight racing, get over to the thread and build one or download drivebyes tune and get to practicing. This shall be the first battle royale for 2018 and you will need to be prepared for this one!
MONDAY MONDAY MONDAY! Drivebye has abandoned PC2 “due to minor issues” and brings you the Group A series in our beloved Forza Motorsport 7. Here is the setup: 91 BMW M3 vs 87 Sierra RS500 vs 85 HDT vs 90 Mercedes 190. There are builds and tunable. Sorry for the short notice but check the thread under official events for the build sand specs. Drivebye has tunes up for the cars, search for the V2 tunes if you want in. I took one around the ring for the photo shoot and these cars are fun to run. The racing action will take to Catalunya and Mugello this Monday night at 9pm est so get ready to rumble!!!
Tuesday nights are home of the long running Super Normal Tuesdays. This is a great night of non points racing with some of the regular series drivers in the club. The racing starts in D class, divisional racing and if the racing stays clean, we move up a class/division to as high of a class as the lobby can manage to stay clean in. There is usually a belt race to allow you to shake off all that seriousness and have some fun trying to get a spec build around a track. Fun night for all and a great night of racing for newer members. See the official thread for more information.
Wednesday nights, Gizziegod hosts a track night very similar to Super Normal Tuesdays but this is a Euro event so please check the thread for the official time frame for racing action. It is another great opportunity to run with some really fast members and a great place to get to race with some of the regulars you will be battling with if you are planning to run one of Gizzies series.
Thursday night is the night of stock race cars and GrimGrinninGhosts’ series…RCS or Race Car Series.
Season 2 is into deep into the season and heads into the final week this Thursday for some ups and downs as hell week continues into Sonoma and then for some championship racing at Watkins Glen short. This season has been a little surreal. The car is the Lotus Exige S. it is a very unfriendly breed but once you get a couple laps in it, it leaves you wondering, do I hat this car or do I need to practice more? Either answer may be correct but there has been some awesome racing either way.
Pro Lobby: The usual suspects command the top of the pack but there are still some battles shaping up going into the final week . Brands Hatch was cloudy but dry as the green flag dropped. Not long into the race, the skies opened up and soon the track was wet and slippery. Electric would get out front early and would stay there for the rest of the race. Stu would be close behind but would have Nightstalker not far behind and looking for some points. Chief would struggle with the wet track and would finish 6th. Onto Yas Marina at night. Usually Yas is one of “those” tracks, yeah one of “those” tracks. However, this race would be something to watch. After many laps, the field stay less than 1000ft from 1st to 8th. This made for some dramatic pit strategies and some tough racing. Lucky qualified well and lead many laps but would fall to the grips of the pits late. Stu would trade his silver medal in race 1 for Electrics gold medal but Electric hasn’t given up the belt just yet. Alandry would start up in the front part of the pack and would have a consistent race to finish 3rd. The points are not easily called yet. Electric leads Stu by 9 points. Nightstalker and MasterBigChief will have the race to watch this week with 3rd place only 3 points apart. There are several battles taking place so we shall tune in next week to see how this all shakes down in Pro.
ProAm Lobby: Pro Am is having some great battles race to race but the championship podium is pretty close to being locked down unless someone isn’t able to make the final races. Parcells2 has been the guy to beat this season as he visits the podium for a 2nd place and then a 1st place last week and has a streak of top finishes that have him sitting on top of the ProAm racers right now. 2nd place VWhit struggled a little bit this past week with back to back 5th place finishes but he didn’t lose any spots in the championship so hopefully his pit crew can get there shit together and give him a car next week! Wilky came out to race this past week and he took the race to the track as he crossed the checkers first in race 1. He would then go on to fill Parcells rearview and take the checkers 2nd in race 2. Old Scotian would have a consistent night as he took 3rd at Brands hatch then 4th at Yas. As stated earlier, the ProAM points are separated by 25 points or so between each of the top 3. 4th place looks interesting as Wilky, jhwnissan and Bigdaddy are within 13 points between them all. Good luck and if any ProAm guys could get a replay shared, let us know so we can get some pics added to the ProAM section. Thank you….good luck to all next Thursday night!
Before we get onto the next topic, make sure you get a good look at the official events thread for 3 separate reasons.
#1) RCS Season 3 is announced, and we hope its still the lambo!! Yes, it is, the Super Trofeo Huracan and is completely tunable. So I personally messed up and removed an upgrade and then tuned it, so that you don’t make the same mistake, the PI is 833 stock and don’t go through the upgrades just reset to default upgrades and tune!
#2) Separate from this series but on the same night (Thursdays in between seasons of RCS) is the Introduction of: the 2O4F Endurance race of Champions (and some others who also qualify to be in the race) actually it is more of a thank you for racing in RCS kind of race as champions could actually not qualify if they didn’t race full seasons (if that’s even possible) anyways….Pro racers who attended the most RCS races are eligible to race in P2 class (either the Chevy FLM09 or the Mazda B09) while ProAM racers who attended the most races to date will race in GT class cars. Please see the thread for eligibility and specific details. This race takes place next Thursday and should be a ton of fun having the 2 groups together for multi class endurance racing.
#3) SPECIAL SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: Season 6 of RCS is planned to use the 2018 Porsche RSR race car. This car is locked and only available by putting a lap in the Bounty hunter event this month. All you have to do is put a lap on the event (you don’t have to win, just put a lap in) so there is not much excuse to not have the car by season 6. It also may come up in a level up spin so if you have the cash, make sure you take the car (think it is free when it comes up so if you don’t have the cash uhhhhhh…sorry to hear that).
And the final moments of the Forza portion of the report are always home to the 2Old 4Hotlapping or the HLC series brought to you by Pryde300ZX, FV Lucky1, Triumphrid3r and Lord Sarverious.
Please check the thread to get the new scorer gamer tags added to your friends list so that your lap times can be recorded.
Go to the official Hot Lap Challenge threads to see where you stand and to keep up with what the organizers throw at us next (new events are announced and start on Tuesday nights)
Last week was another last minute battle as the challenge was showroom rallye at Suzuka West Alt.
HLR Stu put down the lap to chase early and no one would catch him. His 1:31.482 in Tbohar’s Alpine A110 tune would stay on top for almost a whole week of laps. New entry Chronic957 would be the closest attempt and close it was at 1:31.490. Tbohar himself would also get a late jump in time with a 1:31.654 and earn him the top spot in hardcore. Tuner of the week: Tbohar. MasterBigChief would put in a late in the event lap of 1:31.817 to just edge out Quentin at 1:31.830. The late charge by chief boosted him into the lead of the championship to stack up a race for the cup between himself and Lucky going into the last week of points!
So as mentioned, we are into the final week of points racing for season 1 of the HLC program. It has been an unbelievable season for season 1 and we close it out with an unbelievable story shaping up in the final event: KC is back and the robots are battling for the top spot as Electric sits on top with a 1:52.945 and KC is chipping away at that and has logged a 1:53.112. Lucky is doing well this week again and is near the top with a 1:54.642. MasterBigChief is struggling early but we don’t expect it to end this way so keep your eyes on the thread in the final moments to see how it shakes down .The car for now is the Aston GT2 and it is unlikely that another will sneak into the top spot. Lucky looks to have reeled the championship back in but until the event officially closes, it could still be chiefs to lose. Quentin battled hard through the season and was a pain in the ass to the leaders and will take the 3rd spot in the championship.
Season 2 kicks off with some new rules and a shorter season so make sure you look at the rules and regulations section before the season starts!
There is racing happening in several different platforms right now so if you want to get into something different, check the forums and threads under the titles name to see what is going on and when.
Project Cars 2 is hanging on by a thread. There is a current time attack series continuing to throw laps down. Please go to the official thread if you are one who is hanging onto hope and wants to stay involved in PC2. Series racing has ceased for the time being due to lack of interest.
Dirt4 is continuing to run weekly challenges that end on Sundays. It sounds like with the defect from PC2, the title has re-gained some interest in the weekly challenges so check out the thread and get some air! Head over to the official Dirt4 thread to see where and what is going on with this title.
And here we are again, at the end of the report. At this time, the staff would like to thank all the contributors, event organizers, livery creators, replay savers, spread sheet slammers, hot lappers, tuners, and everyone else who gets on the forums and gets involved.
See you on the track (at least that got fixed -ghosts need to be next), have fun, good luck to all racers and lappers!
