Good morning 2O4F and welcome to the unofficial race lobby report we have dubbed:
– There has been another bounty hunter announced – John Shommer is the target if you don’t recognize the name, how about johniwanna for a clue? Yup, lets go get him gentlemen! I believe the rival starts Tuesday. Let’s put a bunch of 2O4F tags in front of him….
– The membership on the forums has reached 300! Welcome newest members!
– A new car pack should be released on Tuesday, no word on any meaningful updates or patches but we will see what Tuesday brings us.
– We now have a storefront forming for basic merchandise at the moment. If you have not read the thread (under site suggestions) the storefront is located within Zazzle (www.zazzle.com) search for 2O4F to find it. There are several products on there and more to be added as it evolves. Get you some! You can post a request for a particular item in the thread and if you would like some of your artwork added to the store, post up under the mentioned thread.
Now onto the racing action. We start off the report with Forza Motorsport 7:
We begin the report with the weekly series hosted by Gizziegod. Gizzie is on IR for the time being following an incident in testing of the Mazda convertible. We could not locate any shared replays for the kick off event at Lime Rock, so we will go by the spreadsheet to see what we can deduct from the first race. It was great to note that there was a 16-car lobby and some great entries as well. I can imagine this race was epic all over the field at times. The next thing I can see is MasterBigChief placed second, not a surprise but I will deduct from that that he fell off the wheel wagon and ran on controller. Drivebye rounded out the podium in 3rd. You ask who won? HLR King Cobra, back on top in the racing department. The action here continues this afternoon. Clues: It was King Cobra in the Corkscrew with a Mazda. Hope there is another full lobby of great racing. We shall check back in next week as the series progresses.
Sunday night rumbles on in the 2.5 Challenge V2.0! Last week was a battle royal as expected. Lime Rock and Long Beach. Lime Rock was a great race and we saw several battles throughout the race. The BMWs took some time to get out front but as the race went on, they got their way through the field. On their way through the field, there were many battles. Just take a closer look at the pictures as most of these were taken a little further in the race, in several pictures more than 1 or 2 of the 4 car choices are fully represented in the pack. It can’t get much better than this series. On to Long Beach where the pit stop was eliminated from the race format. Quentin would get his cortina out front early and would run as hard as he could to stay there. Eventually Electric and Lucky in the BMWs would get on his bumper. Electric would get out front and apparently the pitstop drop command did not register and as he ducked into the pits, Quentin took back the lead and took it to the checkers. Lucky would pressure and Ronron and grim would get to the pack for some action. This action continues this evening at Bathurst and RIO at 9pm est. Should be another great night of 2O4F racing.
Mondays Mondays Mondays! Group A evolution series hits the tarmac for its final week of racing action. Suzuka and Nordschleife! Last Monday, I decided to join in on the action. Holy mother of thunder cheeks! The lobby of 9 took to Road Atlanta and Bathurst. The story from Road Atlanta was the skeletal remains of Lucky and his Mercedes getting out front early and running for the checkers. Drivebye in the Ford and Ronron would chase looking for a fight but would not catch Lucky in time. Grim entered but did not leave the ring as his brakes locked up and he was forced off track for the evening. Quentin, Shrimp, Wilky and Hornet would have some epic battles further back in the pack. Bathurst story is simple. Drivebye put on a hell of a show as his Escort was perfect and he blistered the mountain with a 2.14 lap (the rest of the field was 2.16 to 2.17 for the most part)! The action was good. Wilky would get out front early and would give the field something to chase for several laps. After watching the replay, we can see why he rans so hard. The gingerbread man was being chased by what appears to be Death himself! Ronron would find some way to mucle that Holden around the bends and would find 2nd place at race close. Lucky in Mercedes would find 3rd at race close. Lucky is on a tear in this series and has a pretty healthy lead going into the final weeks racing. Drivebye gives chase in 2nd and Ronron is in striking distance of drivebye with 5 points out in 3rd. Nordscheife can break the best of the best. Let’s see how this turns out!
Tuesday nights are home of the long running Super Normal Tuesdays. This is a great night of non-points racing with some of the regular series drivers in the club. The racing starts in D class and if the racing stays clean, we move up a class to as far as we can go. Fun night for all and a great night of racing for newer members. See the official thread for more information. This past week had some ups and downs but here are some snaps of the events / action. Thanks to Prydes brakes jamming at Monza, the Pink Superbee took the win – don’t mess with Mopar.
Wednesday nights, Gizziegod hosts a track night very similar to Super Normal Tuesdays, this is a Euro event so please check the thread for the official time frame for racing action. Additionally, Gizzie is out of comission at the moment so pleas check the thread to see who is taking on the hosting for thsi event. It is another great opportunity to run with some really fast members and a great place to get to race with some of the regulars you will be battling with if you are planning to run one of Gizzies series.
Thursday night is the night of stock race cars and GrimGrinninGhosts’ series…RCS or Race Car Series.
Season 3 is half way through the season. Last week took the lobbies to Road America and Sebring.
Pro AM lobby: Without a replay to account for the action, we take a look at the standings and the spreadsheet to look at this one closer. The top 2 spots are tied in points going into week 3, VWhit is having a great season again and 4th through 6th are separated by 1 point! BigDaddy and Parcells are having a trade off each week but this week BigDaddy would have enough of that. Back to back wins! Parcells would cross the line in 3rd at Road America but would take 2nd at Sebring. VW would take the Miller Lamborghini to 2nd place at Road America and 3rd at Sebring. Good luck all as we head into week 3. We shall keep an eye out for next week’s standings!
Pro lobby: Lots of stories to not report here this week. Go to the thread if you are curious and need more information. The main story, PrydeZX 2O4F. He struggled a little at Road America as he took 4th but turned it up a notch for Sebring landing a 2nd place finish and putting himself 1 point away from the trophy! Electric would run some very fast laps (wait – did I really have to say that?) and would take the checkers at Road America. Lucky would have a great race at Road America and finished 2nd. Stu would finish 3rd. Sebring, Stu and Pryde would get an early jump on the lead due to an incident a few turns ahead. They would seize this opportunity and would take their Lamborghinis to the checkers in that order. Grim would have a good race and would keep it tidy for a 3rd place finish. 1st through 5th are only separated by 9 points heading into week 3.
And into the 2Old 4Hotlapping or the HLC series brought to you by Pryde, Lucky, Triumphrid3r and Lord Sarverious.
Please check the thread to get the new scorer gamer tags added to your friends list so that your lap times can be recorded.
Last week’s challenge and week 3 of 5: Radical RXC on nordscheife! Electric would come to play and would bury the original leaderboard with an assisted 6.20.038! Pro leader Grim would throw down a great time as well at 6.23.501 and chidinigra would throw down the Grassroots best at 6.26.114! these were also the top 3 times entered. The rest of the field was very sorted in times as this was a tough challenge! It was daunting at first but as you put more laps in, this car really wasn’t as bad as it seemed.
As the Nurburg experience was put behind us, we are currently challenged to the Dubai Mountain reverse course in the spec division of the Mazda Cup car. Once again, Electric has come out to play and sits atop the mountain at 1.49.192. Tbohar who is tied for the championship gives chase and currently sits at 1.49.772. Tank000001 is atop the Pro division at 1.51.131 and Fitzy enters the ring in grass roots at 1.51.631. It is a tight field from 5th through 10th where every 10th of a second gets a spot. There is still 2 days of racing, so we will see where this shakes out. Tbohar takes a healthy lead as of the current standings. Can Quentin find some 10ths and close the gap leading into week 5? 8 points separate Pro top leaders – who will come out on top? 4 points separate Grass Roots leaders, will Shrimp hang on for the title?
Go to the official Hot Lap Challenge threads to see where you stand and to keep up with what the organizers throw at us next (new events are announced and start on Tuesday nights)
Friday nights are heating up in the Winter months as we have a new series, Sprint Fridays. The setup is homologated division builds in the vintage Sports Compacts division. A lobby of 16 took to the track this past week for some great action at Yas Marina. Week 3 takes the entries to VIR South circuit for some door to door action in the mountains of Virginia. Check the official event thread to get more information on this event or to get in on the action. Props to Danger dave for the picture editing in the thread!
There is racing happening in several different platforms right now so if you want to get into something different, check the forums and threads under the titles name to see what is going on and when.
Dirt4 is continuing to run weekly challenges that end on Sundays. Head over to the official Dirt4 thread to see where and what is going on with this title. It may be a little slow right now as most of the main players are either on FM7 or Project cars 2 at this time but there are still some racers keeping the mud slung so post away in the thread and good luck on the stages!
Project Cars 2 is reduced to hotlapping (at least for club purposes) at the time being. There are a couple different hotlap events continuing to run. If you still want your PC2 fix, head over to the official PC2 thread and see what is going on or if you want to introduce an event, post it up and get it going!
And here we are again, at the end of the report. At this time, the staff would like to thank all the contributors, event organizers, livery creators, replay savers, spread sheet slammers, hot lappers, tuners, and everyone else who gets on the forums and gets involved.
See you on the track, have fun and good luck to all racers and lappers!
